Job Summary
Assist with research on planning issues, including demographic trends, land use patterns, and environmental impacts. Help prepare maps, reports, and planning documents using GIS software, and participate in public meetings and workshops to gather community input. Conduct site visits to assess compliance with local regulations and review zoning applications for developers and community members. Work with public officials to support planning projects and prepare presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders. This 10-12 week summer program provides hands-on experience contributing to environmental, municipal, and wastewater markets across Long Island and New York City.
Required Qualifications
- Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Planning, Environment Studies, Architecture, or Arts, or equivalent
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Experience with ArcGIS
- Experience with Adobe Suite
- Experience with SketchUp
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Desired Qualifications
- Prior internship experience in the consulting industry
