Job Summary
Design and manage electric transmission, distribution, street lighting, and substation projects while performing system studies including load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, protection coordination, and transformer sizing. Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports to coordinate with construction, operations, customers, and stakeholders. Supervise engineering staff, manage contracts, and support distribution, substation, planning, SCADA, communications, and NERC/CIP initiatives. Respond to system emergencies and support restoration efforts. This full-time exempt role offers a competitive salary of $103,896 annually in Lubbock, Texas, with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
- Four or more years of electric distribution engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Knowledge of utility transmission, distribution, and substation engineering
- Experience with CAD, GIS, SCADA, and engineering analysis software
- Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to prepare technical reports and supervise engineering staff
- Full-time, exempt position
