Job Summary
Planning Coordinator to support delivery of land-led residential schemes from early feasibility through planning approval and delivery. You will coordinate planning consultants and technical specialists to ensure timely, high-quality submissions, prepare and manage planning documentation (planning statements, design and access statements, technical reports), liaise with local planning authorities and stakeholders, track applications through the determination process, support site appraisals and feasibility assessments, assist with discharge of planning conditions on live projects, and monitor planning policy and legislation changes that could impact development schemes. The role is highly collaborative, requiring strong coordination across internal teams and external consultants, with a flexible hybrid arrangement based out of Warrington (North West England), including occasional office visits and monthly team meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning or a related discipline (RTPI-accredited desirable)
- Experience in a planning or development role
- Experience supporting or managing planning applications within a developer, consultancy or local authority environment
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system, planning policy and development management process
- Understanding of residential development and site appraisal processes
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and external consultant teams
- Strong written communication skills, including preparation of planning reports and documentation
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach to working
- Working towards RTPI accreditation (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (desirable)
