Planning & Assessment- Principal Consultant (ESIA Lead)

Job Summary
The International ESIA Lead will be pivotal in driving the development and expansion of environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) services across Africa. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, forging partnerships, and integrating international best practices into project delivery. Responsibilities include leading multidisciplinary teams through the ESIA lifecycle, ensuring technically sound deliverables that comply with international standards, and maintaining strong client relationships through clear communication and technical excellence. Candidates must possess over 15 years of ESIA experience and relevant academic qualifications, along with sound project management and client relationship skills.
Required Qualifications
- Over 15 years’ experience in ESIAs in South Africa and Africa
- B.Sc. (Hons) or Master’s in environmental or Natural Sciences or similar qualification
- Sound knowledge of ESIA processes to lender standards
- Sound project management knowledge
- Ability to develop and sustain client relationships
- Experience in managing large, multi-disciplinary, complex ESIA projects
- Ability to travel within African countries
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Valid driver’s license
