Job Summary
Plan and schedule short-range operations for FirstEnergy’s Toledo Edison operations center in Holland, OH. Develop a firm two-week plan and a one-month projection of activities to maximize productivity and efficiency, manage work queues, staffing, equipment, materials, tools, switching orders and permits, and work package instructions. Use CLICK to create schedules and dispatch crews, coordinate with internal/external customers, perform pre-construction assessments to optimize resource utilization, ensure UG utility locates (OUPS/PA ONE CALL/MISO tickets), and prepare technical reports and metrics for management. Gain knowledge of NESC/NEC, CGES, and the Company’s safety and operation manuals; support emergencies and storm-related activities, and travel to various facilities and customer sites as required. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or related discipline (or equivalent experience) with 0-2 years of related work experience, and familiarity with tools and systems such as SAP, GIS, CREWS, CLICK, PowerOn, CAD/AutoCAD, and database query tools. Safety, professionalism, and effective communication are emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or related discipline + 0-1 years related work experience; or minimum of 2 years related work experience in lieu of degree
- Experience with planning/scheduling/prioritizing of work for self or others
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with PC software including Microsoft Office and SAP, GIS, CREWS, CLICK, PowerOn, CAD/AutoCAD; knowledge of database query tools
- Valid driver’s license and ability to commute to facilities
