Job Summary
Planner I at Ontic in Chatsworth, CA leads planning, coordination, and tracking of material requirements to support aircraft production. Uses the MRP/ERP system to create and release work orders to the shop floor, ensuring alignment with customer delivery schedules and dependent demand. Monitors inventory across make-to-order and make-to-stock environments, supports cross-functional teams with Purchasing and Engineering to meet delivery commitments, and continuously improves planning processes and tools. Requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word, and the ability to work cross-functionally in aerospace manufacturing. APICS CPIM or equivalent preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required; aerospace/manufacturing experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- APICS CPIM or equivalent preferred
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and ERP/MRP systems
- Understanding of multi-level BOMs, MRP demand and supply planning, lead times, safety stock, and min/max inventory strategies
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/blueprints is a plus
