Job Summary
Planner to assist Indiana and Kentucky communities in preparing and implementing long-range community and economic development strategies. Responsibilities include background research, GIS mapping, facilitating public participation, preparing planning documents (writing, mapping, graphic design), traveling to workshops across Indiana and Kentucky (evening meetings), and collaborating with stakeholders, elected officials, and partners to deliver results. Proficiency in ArcGIS and Adobe Creative Suite is required, along with strong communication, writing, data analysis, and teamwork skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in planning, urban design, public policy, landscape architecture or a related field
- 2+ years of professional experience in long range planning
- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience with ArcGIS
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Ability to think critically, manage time and solve problems
- Strong data analysis and organizational skills
- Reliable transportation
- Complete competence working well independently and on a team
- Applicants must possess high ethical standards, have a strong sense of commitment to self-development, teamwork, and a desire to work in a deadline-driven team environment
