Job Summary
Manage purchasing processes for equipment, supplies, and raw materials while negotiating contracts, analyzing costs, and maintaining MRP system integrity. Lead cross-functional teams to generate work orders, update production schedules, and monitor inventory levels, yield, and lead times. Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering to resolve shortages, implement engineering changes, and ensure compliance with ISO standards. Participate in developing annual operating budgets and report on cost reduction activities to the supply chain manager. Weekend availability may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 years and a Master's degree
- PhD with 3 years experience
- Equivalent experience
- Working understanding of MRP systems
- Understanding of bill of materials (BOM)
- Understanding of Accounting
- Understanding of production control
- Understanding of receiving and inventory
- Some database management skills
- Understanding of Purchasing's role in the ERP/MRP environment
- Ability to interface with manufacturing database systems
- Oracle preferred
- Ability to interface with Agile
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to effectively communicate between operations personnel and upper management
- Strong time management skills
- Self-motivation
- Working knowledge of the procurement and supplier management processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with and influence others
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
