Job Summary
Lead, coach, and support employees in the planer to achieve production, quality, and safety objectives. Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities for process improvements while ensuring the team meets all safety, recovery, quality, and production targets. Provide meaningful feedback and support to your team and across departments, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to safety with strong troubleshooting skills. Engage teams effectively to maintain smooth operations in our redesigned, modern lumber mill located near Williams Lake, British Columbia, where we safely and sustainably produce over 230 million board feet of lumber annually.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a lumber manufacturing environment
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a sawmill, planer mill, or manufacturing operation
- Strong understanding of planer operations, lumber grading, quality standards, and production processes
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A high degree of commitment to safety
- A mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong relationship building skills with the ability to relate with people across all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in forestry, business, engineering, or related fields
- Previous experience leading a team
