Job Summary
Plan Communications Senior Specialist leads creation and distribution of BCBS System newsletters, serves as lead writer for the daily Plan Communications newsletter, coordinates with subject matter experts to source content, integrates Smart Brevity and newsletter technologies, and drives production efficiency. Manages the multi-step daily review process to meet deadlines while adhering to AP style and quality control procedures, distributes the daily Newsletter five days a week, analyzes readership metrics and engagement data, presents insights to key stakeholders, and supports executive/leadership newsletters and cross-team collaboration. Leverages data to improve engagement and effectiveness, coaches content contributors on Smart Brevity, and contributes to strategy, audience targeting, and content development across Plan Communications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years communications experience in a corporate/matrixed environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to translate key messages into appropriate communications and articulate digital strategy and tactics
- Experience with integrated communications planning and multiple channels (print and email, presentations, multimedia)
- Healthcare industry experience with understanding of industry forces
- Strategic leadership abilities and ability to guide teams and stakeholders
- Experience with Smart Brevity and BCBS style guidance
