Job Summary
Placemaker role delivering place-based development and activation programs for South Auckland with Auckland Council. You will build relationships with stakeholders, support planning and delivery of activations, coordinate bookings and permits, provide on-site delivery and site management, monitor risks and issues, and contribute to reporting and programme updates. You’ll engage with mana whenua and local communities to reflect local aspirations, bringing public spaces to life through well-planned activations and community-led initiatives, while ensuring compliance, safety, and operational requirements are met.
Required Qualifications
- Strong relationship skills
- Experience in placemaking, events, activations, community engagement, or similar delivery roles
- Strong organisational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, bookings, and logistics
- Confidence working with diverse stakeholders including communities, suppliers, and internal teams
- Willingness to learn Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tikanga Māori in practice
- Ability to work flexibly and support on-site event delivery when required
- A full, clean NZ driver’s licence
