Job Summary
Lab Assistant for Phase 1 clinical trials performing basic and complex specimen collection and processing under the Lab Manager. Responsibilities include monitoring urine and 24-hour collections, maintaining a clean collection area, notifying staff of abnormal results, acting as courier to the Pharmacokinetic laboratory, labeling PK/PD tubes, and performing clerical/data-entry duties. Requires Phlebotomy Technician certification or equivalent experience (minimum six months), knowledge of regulatory requirements (GCP/ICH), medical terminology proficiency, and strong communication; basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Study Manager). Hours are project-dependent and may include weekends or off-hours.
Required Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician
- minimum six months experience as a phlebotomist at a medical facility
- BLS and/or ACLS certification preferred but not required
- Understand regulatory requirements, GCP and ICH guidelines
- Knowledgeable in medical terminology
- Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal)
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Study Manager)
