Job Summary
Supervise and coordinate all piping installation activities on commercial construction projects, leading field crews, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project schedules. Interpret piping blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, and project documents to ensure proper installation and system performance while developing work plans, sequencing, and manpower strategies to maximize productivity. Monitor installations for compliance with specifications and quality standards, ensuring proper availability of plans, materials, tools, and equipment. Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and vendors to resolve field conflicts, conduct regular site inspections, and lead daily safety meetings to enforce company policies. Track labor productivity and material usage to control costs, maintain accurate project documentation, and communicate progress to leadership. Requires minimum 8 years of trade experience and 4 years of supervisory experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the piping, pipefitting, or mechanical construction trade
- Minimum 4 years of supervisory or superintendent experience on commercial mechanical construction projects
- Proven experience managing commercial piping installations from project start-up through completion
- Strong knowledge of mechanical piping systems, including hydronic, chilled water, heating water, steam, process piping, domestic water, sanitary waste, and medical gas systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules, and technical documents
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and coordination with multiple trades
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to supervise multiple foremen and large field labor forces
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in fast-paced construction environments
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and productivity
- Proficiency with construction documentation, reporting, and project tracking
- Valid driver's license required
