Job Summary
Lead and supervise pipefitting crews to ensure productivity, quality workmanship, and adherence to project schedules. Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and specifications to plan daily activities and coordinate installation of carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper piping systems. Enforce OSHA regulations, conduct safety meetings, and oversee hydrostatic and pneumatic testing procedures. Resolve field issues and communicate progress to Superintendents while managing manpower and equipment resources. Maintain a clean, organized work environment and ensure all installations meet applicable codes and company standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of commercial or industrial pipefitting experience, including 3 years in a leadership or foreman role
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, hydronic, chilled water, heating hot water, process piping, and plumbing systems
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, specifications, and construction drawings
- Proficient in measuring, cutting, fitting, aligning, and installing various piping materials
- Experience coordinating with welders, inspectors, and other construction trades
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Ability to manage schedules, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines
- Solid understanding of piping codes, industry standards, and quality control requirements
- OSHA-30 Certification required (or ability to obtain prior to employment)
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and elevated platforms
- Ability to work in confined spaces and physically demanding construction environments
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching throughout the workday
Desired Qualifications
- NCCER, UA, or other industry-recognized pipefitter certification preferred
- Experience on commercial projects such as schools, hospitals, manufacturing facilities, data centers, and large-scale commercial buildings preferred
