Job Summary
Bechtel seeks a Piping Field Engineer to provide project field engineering support with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover for the Louisiana LNG project. Responsibilities include preparing construction drawings and sketches, planning construction methods, initiating field purchases, performing quantity takeoffs, verifying quantities in tracking systems, enforcing zero-accident safety practices, pursuing continuous learning, and coordinating system turnover and subcontractor submittals under a direct-hire arrangement. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-9 years of relevant experience in piping (PCCP, HDPE, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Alloy piping), ASME 31.3/NFPA 24 familiarity, ES&H commitment, and proficiency with project tools and documentation (PTRs, RFIs, FCDs, NCRs). The role requires physical field inspections, climbing, and working in high heat/humidity, with relocation support for national assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience OR 6-9 years of relevant work experience
- Direct hire construction experience
- Technical knowledge of piping, hydrotesting, and welding
- Experience with PCCP, HDPE, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Alloy piping
- ASME 31.3 and NFPA 24 experience preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H)
- Ability to use Bechtel TeamWorks BSAPs and related project tools
- Familiarity with PTRs, RFIs, FCDs, NCRs and project coordination
