Job Summary
Piping Designer to prepare piping layouts and isometrics using CAD tools (CADWorx, AutoCAD), interpret P&IDs, and contribute to greenfield/brownfield designs in oil & gas, mining, food & beverage, and power sectors. Responsibilities include producing 2D/3D piping models, coordinating with the design lead and other disciplines to resolve issues, supporting construction on-site, and performing tie-ins using 3D laser scanning for accurate modeling. Must have 2+ years of piping design experience, an associate degree or equivalent, and be comfortable in a hybrid work arrangement based in Ferndale, WA (office 3 days/week). Proficiency in CADWorx/AutoCAD, Navisworks, and related tools, plus strong communication and collaboration skills, are required, along with travel to local clients and adherence to safety and project protocols.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years in Piping Design
- Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design or equivalent technical training
- Experience reading and interpreting P&IDs
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and CADWorx; familiarity with Navisworks
- Ability to coordinate with other disciplines and project management in a team environment
- Willingness to travel to client sites; periodic travel required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience generating piping isometrics and material take-offs (MTOs)
- Exposure to industry codes, standards, and design practices
- On-site support during construction phases and design adjustments
