Piping Design Specialist II (In-plant)

Job Summary
Develop specific discipline design packages for complex industrial projects, including layout drawings from engineer sketches and determining piping routing. Lead field layout efforts, prepare detailed drawings using personal judgment, and coordinate design with other disciplines while maintaining strong working relationships. Supervise designers and drafters, ensuring quality work and providing adequate instructions, while also coaching and teaching team members. Participate in 3D model reviews and manage design project teams for small to middle-sized projects under the oversight of senior engineers. Requires a valid driver's license, proficiency in AutoCAD and CADWorx, and the ability to walk up to one mile on industrial sites.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) with at least ten (10) years of experience
- Associates Degree in a related technical field, and at least five (5) years of experience
- two (2) years of college work toward a related Bachelor of Science degree, and at least five (5) years of experience
- equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the jobs
- Valid Driver's License per State law or requirement
- AutoCAD and CADWorx computer data base understanding and proficiency
- Scanning software knowledge
- Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of regulatory codes and requirements related to the stated discipline
- Ability to walk up to one mile on industrial plant and construction sites outdoors at any time of the year
- Ability to work in protective clothing which may elevate body temperatures by several degrees Fahrenheit for periods of up to 15 minutes without a break
- Ability to use multi-level stair towers and rung ladders unassisted
- Ability to hear safety alarms and signals while wearing hearing protection
- Ability to sit at desk and operate computer for extended periods of time
- Ability to stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear
- Ability to see with visual acuity and distinguish between colors
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver's license
- Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. on a regular basis
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. at times
