Pipeline Operator I

Job Summary
Operate and maintain pipeline assets including tanks, pumping stations, and gathering facilities to ensure safe product transportation. Perform petroleum product movements, assess and quantify crude oil, and manage custody transfer activities with carriers and customers. Routinely inspect pumps, valves, perimeter fencing, and equipment for proper operation and DOT compliance. Maintain communications with the Pipeline Control Center, act as witness to meter proving, and run pipeline pigs as needed. Perform monthly tankage and fire extinguisher inspections while maintaining associated records. Requires valid US driver's license, clean criminal history, and ability to work outdoors in extreme weather with occasional heavy lifting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pipeline knowledge and experience
- Capability to take on a wide range of pipeline responsibilities
- Ability to manage pump station, pipeline and lease crude oil shipping responsibilities
- Ability to read and comprehend technical operational manuals
- Basic math and computer/PC skills
- Ability to calculate fluid flow
- Ability to determine and perform batch scheduling
- Ability to coordinate related activities
- Ability to use basic sampling equipment
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Ability to be organized
- Proficiency in record keeping
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry moderately heavy equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in open environment with extremes of heat and cold
- Ability to accommodate travel
- Ability to work overtime
- Ability to participate in on-call rotation
- Valid US driver's license with a clean abstract
- Cleared criminal history (background)
- Satisfactory reference checks
- Compliance with the Company's drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment screening
- Authorization to work in the U.S. for the duration of their employment
- Possession or ability to obtain operator qualifications as deemed by the Operations Supervisor
- Completion of Haz-Mat training
- Completion of safety programs
- Meeting minimum D.O.T. requirements
- Strong communication skills

- Ability to work with minimal supervision
