Pipeline & Facilities Engineer

Job Summary

Conduct feasibility studies, FEED development, and conceptual design for natural gas and liquids pipelines, compressor stations, and related facilities. Develop alignment drawings, coordinate with regulatory and environmental personnel, and produce construction sets including PFDs, P&IDs, and piping drawings. Perform pipe sizing, wall thickness calculations, and capital cost estimating while interpreting regulatory codes and standards. Apply fluid dynamics and thermodynamics principles to design compressors, flow control equipment, and pressure vessels. Interface with clients to meet expectations and manage project schedules and bid documents. Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering and E.I.T. or P.E. designation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Natural Gas Engineering, Industrial or Chemical Engineering
  • E.I.T or P.E. designation preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 15%
  • Knowledge of DOT, FERC, OSHA, and EPA codes and standards
  • Proficient with PHMSA DOT codes and API and ASME standards relating to pipeline design, materials and installation
  • Have a working knowledge of compressor station, M&R, and facility design in accordance with PHMSA DOT Part 192
  • Working knowledge of HCA's and class location studies per DOT
  • Knowledge of fluid and dynamics, thermodynamics, compression cycle and hydraulic machine principles
  • Ability to listen to the voice of the client and translate into engineering design that meets or exceeds expectations
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written skills
  • Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter
  • Ability to demonstrate organizational skills, including attention to detail
  • Proven ability to organize, schedule, and complete work on-time and with high quality
  • Ability to build and sustain positive working relationships across geographical boundaries
  • Strong work ethic

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience using engineering design software such as HYSYS, GasCalc, Pipeline Toolbox, Caepipe, Caesar II, or similar is a plus
