Job Summary
Pipeline Estimating Manager responsible for developing detailed cost estimates for oil and gas pipeline construction, facilities, and integrity work in Strike’s West Texas region. Responsibilities include pre-bid activities, client interface, cost modeling using historical data, collaboration with project managers and field leadership, bid strategy development, presenting estimate justifications, maintaining cost history and pricing data, and facilitating smooth project handovers. Required skills include experience with RFQs, P&IDs, isometrics, direct labor, materials, subcontractors, and proficiency in estimating tools (Hard Dollar, MS Project, Primavera P6, Onscreen Takeoff, Excel). The role emphasizes accuracy, margin protection, and awareness of regional market conditions.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience estimating pipeline construction or facility projects within the oil and gas industry
- Strong knowledge of pipeline construction methods, welding and manufacturing, compressor/pump stations, and facility tie-ins
- Experience with Hard Dollar, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Onscreen Takeoff, Excel
- Proven track record preparing estimates from RFQs, P&IDs, isometrics, and client specifications
- Experience with unit rate and lump-sum estimating
- Prior field experience in pipeline or facility construction is highly desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred
