Job Summary
Drive crew production and direct machinery while installing pipe at grade, benching manholes, and exposing buried utilities. Read drawings, identify soil types, and ensure correct gravel placement before backfilling. Mentor and train labourers, adhere to HSE policies, and utilize proper rigging procedures. Fit-tested for respiratory protection and willing to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends. Residents of Vancouver Island required. Hall Constructors specializes in large-scale excavation and civil infrastructure projects across BC.
Required Qualifications
- Work on jobsites in the Victoria area
- Minimum 2 years as a civil pipelayer
- High School or Equivalent
- Ground Disturbance Lv. 2
- Confined Space
- Fall Protection
- First Aid
- Physical fitness for high-intensity tasks
- Lift up to 50lbs
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as necessary to meet project deadlines
- Understands proper setup and utilization of laser
- Basic understanding of site drawings
- Installs pipe at grade (PVC, HDPE, Concrete)
- Understands and utilizes proper rigging procedure including choosing the correct rigging, clutches & shackles
- Benching/Installation of manholes & catch basins
- Exposing and supporting buried utilities
- You are motivated with a leadership attitude
- Strong organizational skills and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to excel in a team atmosphere
- Exceptional customer service
