Job Summary
The Pipelayer will align and position pipes for welding or sealing, check slopes for conformance, connect pieces using welding equipment, and cover pipes with earth or materials. Responsibilities also include digging trenches, grading trench bases, installing and repairing sewer structures, and laying out pipe routes based on blueprints. Applicants should have strong communication skills, a minimum of three years of relevant experience in roads, highways, and bridges, and the physical ability to perform demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions. The role may involve training others and supervising pipe-laying activities.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) to Five (5) years or more of industry related experience
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50-90 pounds individually
- Manual dexterity to handle and carry construction materials and power tools
- Capable of operating concrete vibrators for extended periods of time
- Physical dexterity to pour, grade and finish concrete
- Maintain constant awareness of the jobsite’s various concurrent activities
- Ability to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely
- Frequently walk on uneven surfaces
Additional Requirements
- All work is performed outdoors in all types of weather, including extreme heat
- Job requires long hours of standing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, squatting and walking
