Job Summary
Assist skilled craft workers in performing assigned duties on heavy commercial and industrial construction projects, working at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision. Take direction from higher-skilled workers or foremen, eliminate waste through efficient workflow, and maintain positive crew relationships while producing high-quality work safely and productively. Safely operate tools and equipment, learn all safety hazards, and ask supervisors before continuing if unsure about work or safe practices. Provide feedback to ensure materials, tools, and information remain available for tasks. Work up to 12-hour shifts in varying temperatures and outside conditions, wearing required personal protective equipment including steel-toed shoes and hardhats.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
- Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50Ibs. on an occasional basis
- Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
- Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions
Desired Qualifications
- NCCER Core Curriculum
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One year experience (level I)
- Two years' experience (level II)
- Three plus years' experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
