Job Summary
Install water, storm, and sanitary pipe while following established grades and ensuring efficient flow with mainline operators. Provide clear communication with crew members to maintain safe operations and quality installation, conducting continuous risk assessments and implementing required controls. Complete site documentation, participate in inspections, and address deficiencies through corrective actions. Perform heavy manual labor, read blueprints, and apply various rigging techniques while adhering to CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015, and other mandatory certifications. Work independently on underground utility rehabilitation projects in Edmonton, mentoring workers for advancement and supporting other positions as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of pipelayer experience
- Ability to read blueprints
- High attention to detail and management of quality specifications
- Safety conscious
- Strong understanding of pipe installation process and flow logistics
- Competent in the use of various rigging techniques and mechanisms
- Able to work independently and follow instruction from the foreman
- Able to support other positions as needed
- Strong communication skills
- Physically capable of performing heavy manual labour
- Consistent, reliable and always show up for work fit for duty
