Job Summary
Operate concrete saws, power tools, excavators, and laser guidance equipment to cut, position, align, and join pipe pieces while installing sewer, water, and storm drain systems. Signal equipment operators for adjustments, dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth to grade specifications using picks, shovels, and tampers. Lubricate, clean, and repair tools; load and unload materials; and control traffic in work zones. Perform additional duties as directed by supervisors. Requires minimum 18 years of age, one year of pipe layer experience, and ability to lift over 80 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Must have predictable and reliable attendance
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old
- Minimum 1 year working as a pipe layer or as a member of a pipe crew
- Heavy physical effort required including pulling and lifting or moving heavy weight material with frequent lifting or moving materials or equipment (over 80 pounds)
