Job Summary
Interpret blueprints, specifications, and drawings to accurately layout and fabricate structural iron and components. Identify materials, recognize safe tool usage, and demonstrate rigging practices while selecting appropriate equipment like manlifts and forklifts. Perform crane hand signals and bolt or weld equipment sections using approved procedures on stacks, chutes, and catwalks. Locate reference points on foundations using master straightedges, transits, and levels to assemble structures on boiler frames, tanks, or existing structures. This shutdown job in Douglas, WY requires 1-2 years of Journeyman experience and NCCER certification. Candidates must work in a team environment within an industrial setting. Required Qualifications
- Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood
- 1- 2 years of Journeyman experience
- At least 2 - 3 years as an apprentice/helper in one of the mechanical areas such as Ironworker, Boilermaker, Pipefitter-Bolt Up, Pipefitter Fabricator or Welding
- At least 1 - 2 years as a journeyman as an Ironworker
- Must possess an NCCER certification card or successfully pass an in-house craft assessment
- Must have a minimum of 1-year experience working in an industrial environment
- Must be able to work in team environment
- Must have been tested and certified through the department for specific type of repairs if steel member requires cutting and welding in the field
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in one of the mechanical areas such as Ironworker, Boilermaker, Pipefitter-Bolt Up, Pipefitter Fabricator or Welding field a plus
