Job Summary
Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using saws, cutting torches, and benders. Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment through welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and threading. Attach pipes to walls, structures, and fixtures using brackets, clamps, or welding. Plan pipe system layouts, installations, or repairs according to specifications. Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipelines using pressure gauges and hydrostatic testing. Perform cross-training in millwrighting, welding, sheet metal, and rigging projects to meet customer needs. Work onsite in Morristown, TN, with occasional exposure to extreme heat, fumes, and moving mechanical parts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- two years related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to regularly stand
