Job Summary
Bolt up and align flanged piping systems, install gaskets, and layout various piping systems. Bevel, groove, cut, and fabricate spool pieces from ductile iron and steel pipe. Weld process piping systems, sweat/solder non-potable water piping, and thread/cut pipe. Assemble plastic and PVDF piping, install small diameter tubing for instrumentation, and mount prefabricated pipe supports. Perform beveling, cutting, and fitting prior to welding. This role requires a Massachusetts Unrestricted Pipefitters License and 1-3 years of construction experience. Pay is $40-$54/hr. Local travel is less than 20% with occasional out-of-state trips.
Required Qualifications
- Massachusetts' Unrestricted Pipefitters License
- High School or Vocational and or relevant work experience
- Minimum of 1-3+ years of experience within the construction industry
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles, on an active construction site
- Prepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions
- Able to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and ladders
- Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance, and stoop, reach on a regular basis
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Travel is primarily local, and limited to Northeast jobsite locations, during the business day, with occasional out of state and overnight travel. Less than 20% travel expected.
