Job Summary
Install, assemble, fabricate, test, maintain, and repair industrial piping systems and associated mechanical equipment in accordance with project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards. Read blueprints, isometric drawings, and P&IDs to layout, measure, cut, and fit piping materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, HDPE, PVC, and copper. Perform flange make-up, bolt torqueing, and gasket installation while assisting with hydrostatic testing, pressure testing, and system commissioning. Operate power tools and equipment safely, maintaining tools and equipment in safe working condition. Mentor apprentices, participate in safety meetings, and travel to various job sites in Alaska to perform duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Four years or more of pipefitting experience in industrial or commercial construction
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and piping drawings
- Must be able to perform each essential function
- Must be able to perform other tasks satisfactorily
- Ability to safely perform work in an industrial environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
- Ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations
- Knowledge of piping materials, fittings, valves, and supports
- Knowledge of industrial piping systems and installation methods
- Proficiency with pipefitting tools and equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized pipefitter apprenticeship program
- OSHA 10-Hour Training
- MSHA Certification
- Welding experience
- Industrial plant construction experience
