Job Summary
The Pipefitter Journeyman is responsible for planning, installing, repairing, and fitting piping systems for mechanical equipment, ensuring all work complies with specifications and safety regulations. This role includes mentoring Apprentices by providing guidance and training to develop their skills, communicating job requirements, and tracking labor and material usage. Key responsibilities include conducting quality control inspections, operating machinery and tools safely, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Advanced knowledge of Pipefitting and welding practices, as well as 5+ years of experience in the piping field, are required.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to comprehend complex instructions, mechanical drawings, and documents
- Ability to clearly communicate in written and verbal English
- Proficient math skills required
- Able to effectively operate the basic tools required for the trade
- Advanced knowledge of Pipefitting practices and procedures along with comprehension of welding practices (Mig, Tig, Stick)
- US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required
- 5+ years’ recent experience in piping field
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a state-sponsored Apprenticeship program preferred
- Piping/Welding certifications preferred
- Rigging experience required
