Job Summary

Lay out, fabricate, assemble, and maintain piping and piping systems for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial processing systems. Select pipe types and sizes per specifications, inspect worksites for obstructions, and plan installation sequences to avoid conflicts. Cut, thread, bend, and assemble metal and nonmetal pipes using various tools and machines. Join pipes via threaded, caulked, wiped, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints. Install and maintain refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, including compressors, pumps, meters, and controls. Test piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure and observing gauges. Weld holding fixtures to structural steel members. Promote and comply with all company safety policies, participate in daily toolbox meetings, and maintain in-depth relations with the team and supervisor. May travel up to 90% to different job sites on limited notice. Full-time schedule of 50 hours per week subject to project requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Applicable Pipefitter training and certificate from NCCER, NCCCO, or from approved 3rd party certification body
  • Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations
  • Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standards
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to- safety toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
  • Must be able to abide by all safety and fall-protection requirements
  • Must be able to wear and utilize all safety equipment required for work at heights
  • See well (either naturally or with correction)
  • Hear well (either naturally or with correction)
  • Coordinate the use of eyes, hands, and feet
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Stamina to perform this task repetitively and continuously for several hour intervals
