Job Summary
Interpret plans, specifications, and work instructions to complete assigned HVAC piping installations, including layout, fabrication, and repair of systems and equipment. Install chillers, AHUs, and pipe assemblies while ensuring work meets design specifications, building codes, and company standards. Provide instruction and guidance to trainees or apprentices to promote safe work practices and skill development. Collaborate with general contractors and other trades to ensure efficient project completion. Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in an organized, safe condition. This role involves lifting and carrying materials up to 50 pounds frequently and requires proficiency in trade math and multiple piping systems.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of HVAC Piping experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project documents
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and applicable codes
- Proficient in trade math
- Proficient in the safe and proper use of hand and power tools
- Strong understanding of job site safety standards and commitment to following all company safety policies
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and clients
- Understand multiple types of piping systems and connection methods (Steel, copper, HDPE, PPR, etc.)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- OSHA 10
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis
- Commitment to use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when performing in the role
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of DX piping
- Knowledge of Pipe Welding, an ASME qualification
