Job Summary
Conduct shipboard piping installation, including fit-up, targeting, welding, brazing, and testing. Select pipe types and sizes per specifications, then cut, thread, bend, and assemble metal or nonmetal pipes using various joints and hand tools. Mount hangers and brackets, install pumps and controls, and secure pipes to structure with clamps. Test systems for leaks by pressurizing pipes and monitoring gauges. Weld pipe supports to structural steel, load and transport materials, and perform minor tool maintenance. Inspect worksites for obstructions and plan installation sequences to avoid conflicts. Comply with all safety rules, project policies, and company procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate, or GED
- Some travel required
