Job Summary
Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping systems, supports, fixtures, and hydraulic equipment for steam, hot water, and industrial production processes. Select pipe types and sizes according to specifications, then cut, thread, bend, and mount hangers using hand and power tools. Assemble metal and nonmetal pipes with various joints, secure structures with brackets, and test systems for leaks by increasing pressure and observing gauges. Load, transport, and unload materials and supplies while inspecting worksites for obstructions. Plan installation sequences to avoid conflicts with other workers. Requires 6 to 42 months of verified pipefitting experience, shop mathematics skills, and the ability to work at heights safely. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the Bloomfield, NM facility and possess US work authorization without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must live within a 50 mile radius of the facility
- Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship form Wood is required
- Six (6) to forty-two (42) months of verified experience specifically in the field of pipefitting
- Apply shop mathematics to solve problems
- Have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures
- Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings
- Work at heights without fear
- Be capable of listening and communicating with other supervision and employees
- Be motivated and work safely and productively
- Use effective verbal and written communication skills
