Job Summary
Plan, lay-out and perform pipe fitting and fabrication work in accordance with plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Work in other crafts as requested by supervision. Must read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards. Emphasizes teaching others, eliminating waste, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety. Requires strong trade math, ability to inspect and correct work, effective communication, and the ability to work a 12-hour shift in varying conditions. Equipment/tools handling and physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs are needed; safety-sensitive role within industrial/construction environments.
Required Qualifications
- Plan, lay-out and perform pipe fitting and fabrication work in accordance with plans, specifications, codes and industry standards
- Read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards
- Possess 3+ years (level I), 4+ years (level II), 5+ years (level III) and 6+ years (level Sr.) experience in industrial/commercial construction and pipefitter trade
- Ability to take direction from higher skilled worker or foreman
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Mentor/teach others and share knowledge
- Eliminate waste (waiting, rework, transport, material storage, time)
- High proficiency in related trade mathematics
- Inspect subordinates' work for accuracy and compliance
- Maintain positive working relationships on crew
- Work safely and productively; provide materials/tools/equipment information as needed
- Capable of 12-hour shifts and handling up to 50 lbs
