Job Summary
Locate, measure, cut, and fabricate pipes and fittings for high-pressure systems, including threading, flanging, and installing valves for air, gas, steam, and liquid distribution. Perform troubleshooting and repair of complex piping and sprinkler systems, execute minor repairs with painting, coating, and waterproofing, and conduct burning and tack welding as required. Sets up and operates all tools and equipment common to the trade under general supervision. The candidate must be available to work any shift based on work priority. Requires four years of progressive pipefitting experience, a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess High School Diploma or equivalent
- Four (4) years of progressive pipefitting experience which may have been as an apprentice in the trade
- Must be able to successfully complete and maintain Welder Performance Qualification tests in accordance with ASME Section IX. 2-3/4" diameter x 5/8" thick carbon steel pipe. 1/8" GTAW (ER70S-2) open butt root, remainder SMAW (E7018). Position 6G
- Valid State Driver's License
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to understand, give and take directions
- Current United States Citizenship
- Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and the AEDC local area network
- Must be available to work any shift
Desired Qualifications
- Basic and/or Advanced Rigging Training
- Active Secret clearance
