Job Summary
Ingalls First-Class Pipefitter responsibilities include fitting pipe from materials such as steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel and stainless with appropriate valves/fittings, interpreting drawings/blueprints, and performing work in shipyard environments with potential day or night shifts. Candidates work safely per procedures and may operate across multiple shifts in a demanding marine setting, including confined spaces and varying weather; role emphasizes reading blueprints/drawings (metric and standard), fit-up, and installation knowledge to support naval vessel construction and maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years Pipefitting experience
- Basic math, reading and comprehension skills
- Knowledge of the layout, fit-up, fabrication and installation of pipe, flanges and valves
- Read and interpret trade drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements
