Job Summary
Pipe Welders needed for a shipyard project in San Diego, CA. Per diem of $160 available if eligible. Candidates must demonstrate extensive welding experience across multiple processes (SMAW, FCAW, TIG) and positions, complete multiple weld tests (2F/3F/4F fillet tests, 6G pipe weld, VT/UT, etc.), and pass background, vision, and drug screenings. Role requires ability to work various shifts and overtime; strong reading/listening comprehension in English and adherence to safety regulations are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Three years of welding experience
- Knowledge of welding procedures
- Proficiency in SMAW and flux-core welding
- Proficiency in TIG welding
- Proficiency in arc welding (flat, vertical, overhead, horizontal)
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English
- Ability to hear warning signals and comprehend safety instructions and regulations
- Must pass background check, vision test, and drug test
- Ability to work any shift and overtime
- Completion of welding assessments (FCAW, fillet weld tests 2F/3F/4F, 6G, 5F/4F, VT/UT tests)
- Ability to perform simulated welding tasks and testing timelines
