Job Summary
Assemble, inspect, test, and repair pipe systems to control plant operations, ensuring proper alignment according to blueprints and specifications. Join, fabricate, and repair metal materials using appropriate welding techniques while interpreting diagrams to determine the correct welding process. Conduct tests on new components and assemblies to locate defective parts, maintaining accurate records of results for management reports. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery, scheduling inspections to avoid interference with facility operations. Ensure all safety procedures and regulations are followed before, during, and after execution to foster a positive safety culture.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- Minimum 2-3 years production maintenance experience
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Demonstrates a high level of customer service and strong communication (both listening and speaking) and interpersonal skills
- Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
- Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance and/or completion of a craft apprenticeship or technical certification
- Greater than 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician
- Previous TIG and stick welding experience
- Ability to use, maintain and possess required hand tools necessary to perform task assigned
- Ability to wear a respirator or full-faced air suppled equipment as needed when welding in confined spaces
- Ability to wear a respirator while field welding of certain metals such as stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminum
