Job Summary
Select and plan equipment layouts for welding metal components, then position, align, and tack-weld parts using arc, gas-shielded, or submerged arc processes. Chip, grind, or cut excess slag and spatter with scrapers, grinders, or portable equipment to finish joints. Operate manual or semi-automatic welding gear to fuse metal segments per API 1104, ASME B31.3, or B31.4 codes, passing qualification tests including 6G pipe or 5G Butt/Branch. Comply with PCM Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations while lifting up to 50 pounds and performing physical tasks like climbing, crawling, or balancing.
Required Qualifications
- Welders must be able to pass a welder qualification test consisting of but not limited to 6G pipe or 5G Butt/Branch under one of these codes: IE API 1104, ASME B31.3, B31.4
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to carry up to 25 pounds
- Close vision
- Distance vision
- Peripheral vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
- Willingness to comply with PCM Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and regulations
- Willingness to comply with all governmental regulations
