Job Summary
Conduct welding functions per jobsite specifications, covering various procedures, brazing, and cutting on all types of pipe in an industrial construction environment. Select equipment and plan layout and assembly of welding, then weld high and low pressure pipe per specifications. Fit up pipe, perform grinding when required, and weld structural steel components while working within precise accuracy limits. Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision, including identifying and eliminating safety hazards. Must possess current certification in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW, with a minimum of five years in refinery maintenance or construction experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience
- Must possess current certification in SMAW, GTAW and GMAW or FCAW
- Must be able to pass Weld Test and have practical welding skill
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active status within the required drug testing program
- Must pass a pre-employment background check
- Must be able to work in weathering conditions including heat conditions while wearing appropriate PPE
- Must be able to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs
- Must be able to work at slight heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms using the appropriate fall protection requirements
