Job Summary
Pipe Welder needed in San Diego, CA at a Shipyard. The role requires three years of welding experience and knowledge of welding procedures and equipment. Proficiency across multiple welding processes including SMAW, flux-core, TIG (GTAW), and air arc, with ability to weld in flat, vertical, overhead, and horizontal positions. Must understand written and verbal instructions in English, hear warning signals, and follow safety instructions and regulations. Candidates must pass background, vision, and drug tests and be able to work any shift with overtime. Welding assessments include FCAW, fillet weld tests (2F-4F VT/UT), 6G copper nickel tests, and other VT/UT evaluations; simulation and practical tests can take 1-2 days. Per diem offered.
Required Qualifications
- Three years of welding experience
- Knowledge of welding procedures
- Proficient in flat, vertical, overhead, and horizontal arc welding
- SMAW and flux-core, TIG welding and air arc skills
- Must comprehend written and verbal instructions (in English)
- Must be able to hear warning signals, read and comprehend safety instructions, regulations and warnings
- Must pass a background check, vision test and drug test
- Must be able to work any shift and overtime
- FCAW and welding-test requirements (2F-4G VT/UT tests, 6G etc)
