Job Summary
Lay out, assemble, and maintain pipe systems and hydraulic equipment by obtaining electrodes, connecting welding units, and striking arcs to deposit metal and join work pieces. Manually guide electrodes along weld lines in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions, then examine beads and apply filler rods to repair broken parts. Clean joints, groove surfaces, and preheat work pieces using hand torches or furnaces. This non-rotational position is located at Big Lake, AK headquarters.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum three (3) years experience as a certified pipe welder
- GTAW – GMAW – FCAW – SMAW experience
- Applicant must pass a pre employment pipe welding test
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Must have Close vision
- Must have Distance vision
- Must have Peripheral vision
- Must have Depth perception
- Must have Ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to stand
- Must be able to walk
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to climb or balance
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to talk or hear
- Must wear Steel toed boots
