Job Summary
Join metal parts, such as pipe or metal plates, using heat or electric arc-welding equipment per layout, blueprints, and work orders. Perform full penetration welds with SMAW and flux core applications, start and complete x-ray welds using GTAW and SMAW processes, and join structures and pipe via FCAW and TIG for carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Unite pipes from torch to tanks of oxygen and fuel gas while turning valves to release mixtures. Check work piece weaknesses and measure components with straightedges or templates to ensure specifications. Maintain and operate welding equipment following safety regulations while wearing required protective gear including respirators, coveralls, and hard hats. This full-time role requires 3-5 years of Journeyman Industrial Pipe Welder experience, a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman Industrial Pipe Welder
- 3-5 years of Journeyman level experience
- Must pass pre-employment physical
- Must pass drug screen
- Must pass background check
- Must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States
- Must be able to weld 2" sch 10 GTAW
- Must be able to weld 2" heavy wall carbon steel GTAW
- Must be able to weld structure and pipe FCAW
- Must be able to weld TIG (carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum)
- Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment
- Must have full range of mobility in upper and lower body
- Must be able to reach overhead
- Must be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting
- Must be able to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to climb stairs
- Must be able to work at heights
- Must be able to balance for extended periods of time
