Job Summary
Work with excavator operators or crew leads to dig and place sewer, water, power, and storm drain piping. Align underground pipe within trenches per plan and survey layout, while preparing, layouting, and installing manholes, concrete boxes, and vaults. Identify problems within underground piping system designs and develop viable solutions. Understand approved plans to help lay out piping and structures for productive installation, ensuring the quality of all work performed. Assist in backfill operations once work is inspected. This role generally lasts 3–4 years before advancing into an operator or crew lead position, with opportunities to train new pipe layers. Applicants must be 18+, legally able to work in the US, speak fluent English, and pass a physical and drug test. Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- legally able to work in the United States of America or provide a valid work visa
- read and speak fluent English
- understand and utilize basic mathematics
- pass a company physical for employment
- pass a hair follicle drug test and subsequent drug tests throughout their employment
- reliable means of transportation
- travel when required
