Job Summary
Set up lasers with grades and verify percentage slopes on drawings, then configure pipe routes to align sections and ensure proper spacing. Grade trenches or culverts and install manholes, valves, and fittings while sealing joints using grade rods or transit levels. Cover installed pipes with soil or other materials to secure them in place, working with various materials including PVC, metal, HDPE, and fiberglass. Operate hand and power tools as required for trenching and installation, following all safety rules and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor. This role requires 3–5 years of experience in water and sewer utility construction and flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in water and sewer utility construction
- Experience setting up to 48" sewer and installing fiberglass manholes
- Knowledge of working with PVC, metal, HDPE, or fiberglass pipes
- Basic knowledge of operating hand and power tools
- Physical ability to perform assigned labor-related tasks (lifting, climbing, bending, standing)
- Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends as needed
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work well within a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with bypass pumping preferred
