Job Summary
Operate concrete saws, excavators, and laser guidance equipment to install sewer, water, and storm drain pipes while positioning and joining materials. Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth to grade specifications using picks, shovels, and pneumatic tampers. Lubricate, clean, and repair tools; load, unload, and move heavy materials over 80 pounds. Signal equipment operators to adjust machinery and control traffic in work zones. Clean work areas to eliminate hazards and comply with all company policies. Requires minimum one year of pipe layer experience, high school diploma preferred, and reliable attendance. Located in Raleigh, NC.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old
- Minimum 1 year working as a pipe layer or as a member of a pipe crew
- Must have predictable and reliable attendance
- Ability to continuously work around noise, dust, heat, cold, oil and heavy equipment
- Ability to exchange ideas quickly and clearly
- Ability to receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions
- Ability to pull and lift or move heavy weight material with frequent lifting or moving materials or equipment (over 80 pounds)
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required
- Certified to control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones
