Job Summary
Pipelayer needed to join our construction team to lay pipes for drainage, sewage, and other utility systems. Responsibilities include reading blueprints/technical drawings to layout piping, excavating trenches, laying pipes with proper alignment and grade, connecting pipes using welding and other methods, operating heavy machinery (backhoes, front loaders, bulldozers), inspecting installed pipes for quality and safety compliance, and coordinating with on-site crew to meet project timelines. Proficiency in blueprint reading, ability to plumb pipes correctly, experience with heavy machinery, and a focus on safety are required; welding techniques and concrete forming knowledge are advantageous. Based in Des Moines, IA, performing on-site, full-time work.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient in blueprint reading
- Ability to plumb pipes correctly
- Experience operating heavy machinery (backhoes, front loaders, bulldozers)
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints/technical drawings
- Knowledge of pipe connections including welding techniques (preferred)
- Strong digging/trench excavation skills
- Familiarity with concrete forming processes (a plus)
- Commitment to safety protocols and on-site collaboration
