Job Summary
Configure pipe routes and dig trenches with specialized tools for storm sewers, sanitation drains, and water mains. Align pipes in sections, slide them into prepared trenches, and correct misalignments using sledgehammers or grade rods. Seal joints with cement, glue, or welding equipment to ensure tight fits, then cover pipes with dirt or other materials. Perform continual maintenance, replace defective units, and drill auxiliary holes as needed. Utilize magnetic or radio indicators to coordinate with tractor drivers. Normal hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p. m., with starting pay negotiable based on skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Employment is conditional on satisfactorily completing all pre-employment requirements including background and drug screen
