Job Summary
Pipe Laborer needed for construction projects within the Pikes Creek Division. Responsibilities include acquiring tools, measuring distances from grade stakes, driving stakes, and stretching tight line; assembling, aligning, and sealing pipe sections; signaling operators to align/move machinery to conform to grade specifications; leveling earth to grade; mixing concrete; smoothing and finishing concrete; erecting scaffolding, shoring, and braces; performing pipe duties such as laser setup, backfilling with a Wacker or jumping jack, cutting pipe to length, prepping pipes for connections, shooting and checking grades with laser or traditional methods, and ensuring proper pipe slope; preparing structures for installation and performing general pipe-related tasks while adhering to safety and PPE requirements.
Required Qualifications
- One year of relevant heavy highway construction experience
- Experience with underground utilities (storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main)
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet physical requirements
- Ability to fit test and use PPE
- Possesses or willing to obtain OSHA or safety certifications (preferred)
- Pre-employment drug test
- Pre-employment physical
- Ability to operate/assist with pipe-related equipment
